First day of Advanced Web Design!
Our first class was an overall introduction on how the class would be structured. By the end of the semester we are going to try and accomplish designing two website projects that we will hand code ourselves. Not only are we going to be designing websites but we are going to gain knowledge about how to create responsive web pages and well established designs. For this class we were required to buy the "Web Designer's Idea Book" off Amazon. Once I received the book in the mail I skimmed through most of the chapters and it seemed very inspirational due to all the examples and images.
In class we talked about the different requirements that we would need to complete before the semester ends. We will be attending studio visits, on campus events, off campus events, and helping with on campus educational events. Another event that is required is going to a high school and either talking to them or presenting to them. The group I was placed in will be visiting Hempfield High School and educating students on basic HTML, CSS, and web pages. Over the weekend I will come up with a lesson plan for how I will be educating the students.
